This study examines the effectiveness of integrated Emotional Resilience and Assertive Communication training in improving the psychosocial capacity of individuals in non-formal communities. Low mental health literacy and constructive communication skills, reflected in the high prevalence of mental-emotional disorders and difficulty setting boundaries, underlie the need for community-based interventions. The study aimed to test the impact of a two-tier intervention model that combines the foundations of emotional regulation with assertive communication skills. The method used was a mixed-methods approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design, involving 30 youth organization participants. Quantitative data were collected using the Brief Resilience Scale and the Rathus Assertiveness Schedule, analyzed using paired sample t-tests, while qualitative data were obtained from focus group discussions (FGDs), observations, and in-depth interviews. The results showed a significant increase in emotional resilience scores (from M=3.12 to M=3.85; p<0.001) and assertive communication (from M=24.5 to M=33.2; p<0.001), with effects persisting in follow-up measurements. Qualitative analysis revealed that the experiential learning approach and the module sequence, beginning with emotion management, were key to successful skill internalization. This study contributes by providing empirical evidence and contextual modules on an integrated psychoeducational intervention model, which can be adopted by various stakeholders to strengthen community mental resilience at the grassroots level.
