PROBLEM OF CULTURAL DIFFERENCES IN THE FAMILY IN AN EDUCATIONAL PERSPECTIVE

The Indonesian nation has cultural diversity which is commonly referred to as a multicultural society. In this condition, it takes people who are able to communicate between cultures and have knowledge of comparative cultural patterns. This is because the diversity of society has the potential to cause group segmentation, divided structures, weak consensus, frequent conflicts, forced integration, and group domination, which in turn can weaken the movement of community life itself, especially in small groups, namely families. This observation suggests problems that occur in families in different ethnic marriages, especially those that occur in the Javanese and Mandar tribes. Through this observation, it will reveal several focuses and observation questions including, what are the causes of the problems and what are the solutions to the problems of cultural differences that occur in families. The research is located in the village area of Bulusan, Banyuwangi city. After conducting the research, it was found that through good communication, good decisions can also be made between family members, thereby eliminating negative things such as conflicts that should not have occurred. Starting from the way they adjust the language, customs and culture where they live, communication and openness carried out by all family members to maintain a balance in family relationships and get rid of their respective egos to minimize problems that occur due to misunderstandings in differences of opinion between couples of different ethnicities and culture in particular. This made this family able to maintain their marriage well
