Abstract

This research has three objectives: (1) Describe the history of the station and the development of the Dutch colonial heritage station in Banyuwangi Regency. (2) describe the inventory of Dutch Colonial heritage stations in Banyuwangi Regency. (3) describe the role of government and society in maintaining and preserving the Dutch Colonial Heritage Station in Banyuwangi. This research was conducted at four locations, namely: Glenmore Station, Benculuk Station, Srono Station, and Banyuwangi Lama Station. The data can be taken from observation, documentation, interviews, books, journals and archives. The data analysis technique uses qualitative. The method used is a historical approach with a qualitative research type. The results of this research are: The history of the station in Banyuwangi, which began simultaneous construction in 1903, began with the construction of the Mrawan tunnel in Jember in 1902-1903 and was inaugurated in 1910. The characteristics of the historical building station are: The walls are very thick, the roof of the station uses zinc. , spacious entrance, arched windows. The role of the Government and Community in maintaining Dutch Colonial Heritage Stations is, the Government: by carrying out recording (re-inventory) of Dutch Colonial Heritage Stations. Community: by not destroying the station building and participating in introducing it to the next generation.
